Clean, dry air at the point of use.
Water in your air lines, oil contamination, condensate disposal. These are the problems we are most often asked to solve.
The compressor is only the starting point.
Once air has been compressed, contaminants including water, oil and particulate matter remain present. Left untreated, they can damage downstream equipment, compromise production quality, and put you in breach of ISO 8573-1, the international standard for compressed air purity.
Five filter types, matched to your application
Filtration is especially critical in food and beverage, pharmaceutical and medical applications, where air quality directly affects product safety and compliance.
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Intake filters | Remove over 80% of particulate contaminants down to 0.3 micron |
| Particulate filters | Strip out dust and solid particles from the airstream |
| Coalescing filters | Capture oil and water aerosols, dust and dirt down to 0.01 micron |
| Activated carbon filters | Eliminate odours and hydrocarbon vapours |
| Bacteria filters | Specified where hygiene standards demand it |
Three dryers, depending on your dew point
Excess moisture causes corrosion, freezes outdoor pipework, promotes bacterial growth and shortens equipment life.
Refrigerant
Air passes through a heat exchanger, cooling it to precipitate moisture, which is drained away. Dried to a pressure dew point of +3°C, suitable for most general industrial applications.
Desiccant
Air is pushed through a desiccant-filled chamber that adsorbs moisture directly. The right choice where low dew points are critical or pipework runs in cold environments.
Membrane
A permeable membrane separates water vapour from the airstream, with a small purge flow carrying moisture away. Compact, quiet, with no moving parts.
Do not send untreated condensate to drain.
Compressed air condensate typically contains around 1% oil, which classifies it as a pollutant under the Water Industry Act 1991 and Environmental Protection Regulations 1991. Disposing of untreated condensate to drain is illegal, and the responsibility sits with you as the operator.
Zero loss drain
Electronic level control discharges condensate only when required, with no wasteful bleed of compressed air.
Oil-water separator
Treats condensate on site so the water fraction can be separated from the oil.
Treatment FAQ
What standard governs compressed air purity?
ISO 8573-1 is the international standard defining compressed air purity classes for solid particulates, water and oil content.
Which dryer do I need?
It depends on your dew point requirement and application: +3°C refrigerant for most general industrial use, desiccant down to -70°C for critical or cold environments, membrane for compact point-of-use drying.
Can you supply and fit condensate treatment?
Yes. We can supply and install equipment to remove condensate from your system and treat it on site.
